Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a major chronic disease with major socioeconomic implications and a high prevalence. Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV inhibitors (DPP-IV-I) are a new class of anti-hyperglycaemic agents. The use of these compounds in both type 2 diabetes mellitus and impaired glucose tolerance is reviewed. Data from preclinical studies and clinical trials of DPP-IV-I, in particular in type 2 diabetes mellitus, are examined. A discussion is also made of the influence of different DPP-IV-I on body weight. On the basis of the available evidence, DPP-IV-I seem to be a useful anti-hyperglycaemic therapy in type 2 diabetes mellitus with a good effect on body weight.

Steps to install Digsi 4.84:
Connect the Digsi using a serial or RJ45 connection using an appropriate serial cable or a known network connection.
Download the installation package from www.siemens.com/digsi/software/Install-Digsi-4.84.zip to a directory on your hard disk.
Double-click the Digsi-4.84.exe file.
Follow the instructions on the Digsi Setup screen to accept the license terms.
If you do not accept the terms, the installation will not continue.
If you want to accept the license, press OK.
On the menu bar, select Tools -> Start Program to begin the installation of the Digsi software.
The Digsi Setup screen displays. The details of the installation screen are shown in the figure on the following page.
Select Install Digsi 4.84 to accept the license terms and begin the installation.
The Digsi Setup screen will display the installation details.
3. While the Digsi software is being installed, the Windows installation program will check the Internet connection. The installation cannot continue if the Internet connection is not available.
Note
You can specify in the installation screen to overwrite the files that are on your computer with the Digsi software. This is useful when you use another version of the Digsi software on the same computer. However, if you choose to overwrite, the old Digsi software will be deleted.
Once the Digsi software is installed, the software should run automatically after restarting your computer. To check if the software is running correctly, type digsi at the command prompt.
If you do not have the Digsi software on your computer, you can get it from www.siemens.com/digsi/downloads/downloads.aspx?productid=178&downloads=1.
4. When the Digsi software is installed and running correctly, you can exit the installation program.
5. On the menu bar, select Tools -> Exit.
6. Close the Digsi software program.
